Eva is Hel, Goddess of the Underworld. She was married to Ty and daughter of Colin (Loki).

Biography

Season 2

Following her freezing Dawn in Ty's freezer, Eva awaited his return home, only for someone else to arrive, and she demanded to know what they wanted. By the time Ty returned home, Eva had been left inside the freezer herself, and though Ty tried to revive her, she died in front of him. The spirtitual essence of Hel then left Eva's body. Immediately after, Agnetha approached Ty, revealing she had been the one to kill Eva. She convinced Ty that they should make it appear that she had killed herself or had an accident, as Agnetha had drugged her before placing her in the freezer. They dumped her body in a national park, and left her for someone to find. When her body was recovered, Colin was furious and accused Ty of killing her, and set about giving her a proper Norse funeral, in which her body was burned on a pyre. (Death's Cleansing Embrace)

Later, Ty admitted the truth behind Eva's death to Colin, who had tried to kill Ty earlier and forced a folkmoot to be held to sort the matter. Axl's punishment for Agnetha was that she should turn into a tree for a mortal lifetime, though an unsatisfied Colin burned the forest down to avenge Eva. (Folkmoot)

Personality

The underworld, in Norse mythology, is a very cold place, so Hodor and Hel are well suited to each other. Thus it was Ty who prevented the wrath of Hel raining down by marrying her; a relationship that is a tempestuous as an Arctic blizzard. Weird things happen when two cold fronts meet.

Eva was never close to her father, and when she turned 21, she began feeling hollow and depressed. When she was told she was the reincarnation of the Goddess Frigg she was slightly more like her normal self. However, after learning she was in fact Hel, and embraced the Goddess inside her, she became more volatile and aggressive. Eva claimed that it felt like there were two kinds of people inside of her, and that Hel was the one pushing her darker actions, while she prefered to think of her own self as the old her.

Relationships

Eva was in a relationship before she turned 21, however because of strange things happening to her and not knowing why, felt depressed and broke it off. When learning that she was apparently the Goddess Frigg, destined to be with Odin, she went out with Axl, and the only thing they bonded over was that their dads certainly weren't the best. She decided that they should get married, although it was more to spite her father than anything else, and even though he took it well, she continued to want to get married, until Axl convinced her they weren't right for each other.

When she met Ty, he was extremely bitter towards her, arguing that she wasn't marrying Axl out of love. After learning that she was actually Hel, Ty arrived to speak to her, and convinced her they were meant to be together since they both brought pain and suffering to people. Eva, though frightened at first, realised he was right and the two got very passionate, neither caring that they would likely be the death of one another. They got married to save Mike's life, in a marriage more of convenience that love. However as time went on, and even as the dark entities within them sometimes clashed, she came to believe that she did love him. However this in turn became jealousy, and when she managed to escape a dark moment asked Ty to help her have a child, showing that she was prepared for them to live together for a long time.
