Ben graduated from Toi Whakaari (NZ Drama School) at the end of 2001 after first completing a BA in Film & Television at Waikato University. He won 'Most Promising Newcomer' in the 2002 Chapman Tripp Theatre awards. He had small soldier/ranger roles in both the 2nd and 3rd Lord of the Rings movies. He's a qualified SCUBA diver, and also incredibly tall: 6' 4". He loves 70s and 80s rock music (you can take the boy out of Hamilton, but you can't take Hamilton out of the boy...)[1]
